How to Build Decorative Garden Arches

Exterior garden arches are often built to be used as a porch or entrance to a road or a special section of the garden. You can build one from simple materials that might find in your home and some craft wire you overlay with a willow rods or guides. Along with a pair of wire side panels together form a kind of ladder, garden arches has four posts that can also serve as functional to support climbing plants, vines, flowers or vegetables vine lightweight, like peas lattice. To create a portal in your garden, grow plants in large pots at the bottom of the arc or climbing plants placed on the ground near the base of the arch.

Select posts to create your garden arches from thick tree branches or tree trunks. Remember that must be at least 8 feet (2.44 m) long and 4 inches (10 cm) in diameter. With a saw, cut the branches that protrude from the posts. Cava hole at least 24 inches (60.96 cm) deep where will the corner posts of the arc. Get all the land of the holes. Using a shovel, placed about 6 inches (15.24 cm) of gravel at the bottom of each hole.
